This is easily one of my favorite Universal Monster movies. Dr. Jack Griffin should be everyone's favorite maniac. What seperates from other monsters is that he is incredibly funny. Stealing bikes, throwing money and all around terrorizing a village I think are things anyone would do if they were invisible .
In the movie we see a mysterious bandaged man coming into a bar and demands a room upstairs. The owners get one ready for him and he orders that no one comes up there to bother him at all. While, after a few weeks he became short on his rent so the owner went upstairs to talk to him. Finding he has a mad a lab up there, he demands money and Jack Griffin throws him down th stairs for interrupting him finding the cure to his self experiment. The townspeople all gether to confront him only finding out that he is invisible! He tears his disguise off anf throws them at the crowd running off and hitting and stealing as he pleases. Jack ends up at Dr. Kemps home. He orders him to assist him in retreiving his belongings at the inn. In fear Dr. Kemp agrees but ultimately decides to inform the police of The Invisible Man's whereabouts since there's a manhunt for him. Jack gets upset and promises to kill Kemp. After a few murders and exploding trains he kept his promise killing Kemp by throwing a car down a hill. (I'm loosely summarizing I didn't even mention Flora.) Anyways, after a long day of wreaking havoc Jack settles in a barn butt naked and takes a nap. The police find him, set the barn on fire and shoot The Invisible Man! In the hospital as he dies we finally see the face of The Invisible Man, Dr. Jack Griffin.
There's nothing much to say except I could fix him.
Just kidding. The way this character is so underrated in the Universal Monster community. In my humble opinion he should be the most ADORED monster. No other monster is as funny, smart and as dangerous as The Invisible man! There's a minute amount of official merch of him, which is CRIMINAL.
